2. Payment and Security

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Credit/Debit Cards (via Stripe)

  • Google Pay

  • Apple Pay

Our payments are processed securely via Stripe, which uses robust encryption and data protection methods, including TLS (Transport Layer Security), to ensure that your payment information is protected during transmission and storage. All payments are taken in full at the time of order confirmation.

3. Shipping and Delivery

We currently ship both domestically and internationally, using the following carriers:

  • Royal Mail

  • Evri

  • DHL

Shipping rates and delivery times will be automatically calculated at checkout based on your location. All orders include tracking, and once your item has shipped, you will receive a tracking number.

  • Lead Time: Since all products are handmade, our processing time is typically 4-6 weeks, depending on the product and workload. We allow a 3-week extension in case of higher-than-usual demand or material delays. We will notify you in advance if this extension is required.

  • Countries We Do Not Ship To: Currently, we do not ship to countries under international trade restrictions, such as North Korea and Iran, due to legal regulations.


4. Returns, Refunds, and Exchanges

  • Returns:
    All sales are final, but if there is a malfunction or failure, you are eligible for a return within 30 days of receiving your item. The item must be unused and in its original packaging. We do not accept returns for custom orders or personalised items. These fall under bespoke orders, and we encourage our customers to give careful thought before placing an order for something custom-made. However, if a manufacturing defect is found, we will happily accept a return.

    • Shipping for Returns: The customer is responsible for return shipping costs, which are non-refundable. For returns valued over £70, we recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing insurance to ensure we receive the returned item.

  • Refunds:
    Once we have received and inspected your returned item, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. Approved refunds will be processed and applied to your original payment method within a few business days.

  • Exchanges:
    We only replace items if they are found to be defective or damaged upon receipt. Please note that this does not cover wear and tear from normal use. We thoroughly inspect all our goods before shipping to ensure they meet our high standards. If you believe your item is defective or damaged, please email us to arrange an exchange.

5. Product Warranty

Our products come with a one-year warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers any faults caused by manufacturing defects but does not extend to normal wear and tear or misuse.

6. Unique and Handmade Items

All products are crafted by hand, and as such, each item is unique. Variations in leather grain, colour, and texture, as well as slight differences in the hand-forged hardware, are part of the beauty of working with natural materials and handcrafting.

7. Intellectual Property

All logos, designs, and content on this website are the property of Aetolus Leather. Unauthorised use, reproduction, or distribution of any content or designs is prohibited. If you would like to use our content for any non-commercial purpose, please contact us for permission.

8. Limitations of Liability

While we strive to ensure that your order is completed within the specified lead time, factors such as:

  • Backordered materials

  • Public holidays

  • Courier strikes

may cause delays. In such cases, we will notify you via email or on our website. Additionally, Aetolus Leather is not liable for any delivery delays caused by third-party couriers.


9. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with Scottish law. Any disputes arising from the use of our website or from an order placed with Aetolus Leather will be handled under the jurisdiction of Scottish courts.

10. Changes to Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to update or modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website, and significant changes may be communicated via email. Your continued use of the website after any changes implies your acceptance of the updated terms.
