The Aetolian journey began in the early 2020s when we first started crafting knife rolls, binocular cases, tent bags, and pouches on a vintage post-WWII hand-cranked Singer sewing machine for our own use.

Three years later, Aetolus Leather has grown into a small business with a traditional crafting ethos in the heart of Edinburgh.

All our leather goods are designed and handcrafted by Christos and Mary. Our leather is carefully sourced from trusted UK suppliers, many of which are family-run businesses, and we use only the finest vegetable-tanned hides made with natural tannins. Most of our metal hardware is expertly cast at a foundry in Walsall, UK, ensuring exceptional quality and craftsmanship.. Each piece is made using traditional methods and tools, all wrapped up in an eco-friendly package.
