Sam Browne pouch for the WWI Prideaux speedloader

Mr. M. Clarke, a collector of WWI antiques, recently commissioned a custom replica of a Sam Browne pouch from us for his Prideaux Speedloader. We were happy to work with him for such a project; which, to be honest, was quite of a challenge, since this pouch is box stitched on every side.

This WWI replica is made specifically for a Prideaux revolver magazine.
The materials we used are the same as back in the day; vegetable tanned leather, treated with neatsfoot and mink oil and finished with our homemade Aetolian leather Balm which contains beeswax and lanolin. The flesh side is sealed with gum tragaganth, to add some extra protection.
Stitched by hand with waxed linen thread and the stud is out of solid brass.

If we wanted to elevate this replica and make it even more collectible, we could have used Sedgwick leather. Sedgwick leather is known for its exceptional quality and durability. It’s tanned using traditional methods that produce a rich, supple leather with a beautiful finish. Unfortunately, we didn’t have any Sedgwick leather in stock at the time, but it’s definitely something we’ll consider for future projects to provide an even more premium product.
